INSIDE RISE

13 ingredients.
Nothing left unexplained.

The roots, fruits, herbs, algae and finishing touches in our current formulation. Discover the role of each one and what the research tells us.

An ingredient guide, not a promise of results. Evidence about individual ingredients does not establish the effects of the RISE blend. Final nutrient content and ingredient specifications are still being validated.

Illustrative image of red maca

Gelatinised red maca

Red maca

An Andean root, with a story.

Maca is a traditional Andean food. Small human studies have explored mood and sexual wellbeing, making it an interesting ingredient to understand as women move through different stages of life.

What we know

Evidence is preliminary. A small trial in postmenopausal women found changes in some wellbeing scores without changes in measured reproductive hormones. It does not establish hormone balancing, an energy benefit, or an effect of RISE. Gelatinisation describes processing; it does not mean added gelatine.

Illustrative image of blueberry

Spray-dried blueberry

Blueberry

The berry at the heart of RISE.

Blueberries bring fruit character and naturally occurring anthocyanins, the pigments behind their blue-purple colour. These plant compounds have been studied for their effects on blood-vessel function.

What we know

Research on whole blueberries and specific anthocyanin preparations cannot tell us what this spray-dried ingredient, at the amount used in RISE, will do. Processing and the final formulation matter.

Illustrative image of llantén

Llantén

Llantén

Part of our botanical blend.

Llantén is a traditional herb included in the current formulation. Its exact botanical species and plant-part specification are being confirmed before we describe a particular functional benefit.

What we know

Llantén should not be confused with banana plantain or with psyllium seed husk. Evidence for a named Plantago species, plant part or preparation cannot automatically be applied to this ingredient.

Illustrative image of goldenberry

Spray-dried goldenberry · aguaymanto

Goldenberry

A little Andean brightness.

Aguaymanto is an Andean fruit containing vitamin C and carotenoids. Vitamin C has established roles in normal immune function, collagen formation and the absorption of iron from plant foods.

What we know

Those are roles of vitamin C in the body, not confirmed benefits of a serving of RISE. Fresh-fruit composition varies, and the nutrient content of our finished blend has yet to be verified.

Illustrative image of moringa

Moringa

Moringa

Leafy botanical character.

Moringa leaves contain plant proteins, minerals and carotenoids such as beta-carotene and lutein. They bring another botanical dimension to the blend.

What we know

Nutrients vary with the ingredient specification and processing. The amount contributed by RISE must be measured before making protein, iron, energy or other nutrition claims.

Illustrative image of panela

Panela · unrefined cane sugar

Panela

Warmth and a little sweetness.

Panela brings rounded, caramel-like sweetness to the flavour. Like other sugars, it supplies carbohydrate energy.

What we know

Panela is still added sugar. RISE is not sugar-free, and we do not describe panela as a treatment for fatigue or as a significant mineral supplement.

Illustrative image of yacón

Yacón root

Yacón

A root with a distinctive fibre story.

Yacón root naturally contains fructooligosaccharides, often called FOS. These carbohydrates can be fermented by gut microbes, which is why yacón attracts interest in prebiotic research.

What we know

FOS content and tolerance depend on the preparation and dose. Studies using yacón syrup do not establish a digestive, blood-sugar or weight benefit for RISE. Fermentable carbohydrates can cause bloating in some people.

Illustrative image of ashwagandha

Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha

A botanical being studied for stress.

Some ashwagandha preparations have shown promise for stress and insomnia. It is one of the ingredients we are exploring within a thoughtful approach to everyday wellbeing.

What we know

Results are preparation-specific; the benefit and safety of the RISE blend have not been established in clinical trials. Evidence is insufficient for menopause benefits. Ashwagandha can interact with medicines and is not suitable for everyone; see the safety information below.

Illustrative image of spirulina

Spirulina

Spirulina

A deeply coloured ingredient.

Spirulina brings its characteristic blue-green colour to the formulation. Its composition and the amount used determine its nutritional contribution.

What we know

We do not claim that RISE is a protein or vitamin B12 supplement. Spirulina is not a reliable source of active vitamin B12, and its presence does not establish an energy or hormone benefit.

Illustrative image of maras salt

Sal de Maras

Maras salt

A finishing touch from Peru.

Maras salt rounds out the flavour. Sodium has essential roles in fluid balance and nerve signalling, but extra salt is not an energy booster.

What we know

It counts towards total salt intake. Trace minerals do not make it a hormone-balancing ingredient or a replacement for a varied diet.

Illustrative image of camu camu

Spray-dried camu camu

Camu camu

An Amazonian fruit to know.

Camu camu is known for the vitamin C found in its fruit. Vitamin C supports normal collagen formation and immune function, helps protect cells from oxidative stress, and assists iron absorption.

What we know

Vitamin C content changes with raw material, processing and storage. These general nutrient roles do not establish the amount or benefit delivered by a serving of RISE.

Illustrative image of chlorella extract

Chlorella extract

Chlorella extract

The detail is in the extract.

Chlorella is an alga, and our formulation specifies an extract. Its role will be described more precisely once the extraction method and composition are confirmed.

What we know

An extract is different from whole chlorella. We do not assume a protein, vitamin, mineral or “detox” benefit from studies of a different material.

Illustrative image of blueberry flavour

Blueberry flavouring

Blueberry flavour

Because the ritual should taste good.

Blueberry flavouring complements the fruit ingredient and gives RISE a more consistent berry taste and aroma.

What we know

Its role is flavour. No nutritional or hormonal benefit is claimed. The final flavouring specification will determine how it is described on the label.

Let’s talk ↗
What is RISE?

RISE is Zananaya’s first blueberry-flavoured powder blend, developed with food engineers and scientists. The current formulation contains 13 ingredients. The product is still in development and is not yet available to buy.

Is it only for perimenopause or menopause?

Those stages are part of our founder’s story, and women in midlife are central to the inspiration. RISE is being developed for adults. It is not presented as a treatment for menopause symptoms or as a replacement for prescribed care.

Does RISE balance hormones or boost energy?

We have not established those effects for the finished blend. Some ingredients have nutritional roles or preliminary research behind them, but that does not demonstrate a benefit from RISE. Our ingredient guide explains what is known and where the limits are.

Does it contain sugar?

Yes. The current formulation includes panela, an unrefined cane sugar used for sweetness. Final nutrition information will be provided when validated.

Is it suitable for everyone?

No. RISE contains ashwagandha, which should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding and is not recommended for people with thyroid or autoimmune disorders or around surgery. It can interact with medicines; rare liver injury has been reported. Seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional if you take medicines or have a health condition. Suitability, directions and warnings for the final RISE product are still being finalised.
